July 2009
mmmm riverside.
i moved back to riverside yesterday…& i can honestly say i didn’t know how i felt about it. i just had a really good time at home. i love being with my family, i love spending time with chad’s family, i loved seeing bella almost every day, i loved catching up with old high school friends & church friends…it was just a really good summer. & plus, i am a complete wimp when it comes to hot weather…so i didn’t know how i would survive a summer here in the desert.
but the moment i saw steph’s face, i knew it was time to come back. we had a fabulous night full of a super target run, stocking our fridge, rubios & good ol’ lady gaga.
i’m sitting in work right now & it almost feels like i never left. it feels so great to be working again, to start thinking of design stuff already, to begin to prepare for my last year at cbu. it was so nice to see christopher hof, chat & catch-up. i got to see brookie…i got to wake up to coffee made for me just like the good ol’ days. steph & i already planned out our dinner menu for the whole week. ha. love it.
anyways…all that to say, i missed you, riverside. it feels good to be back.
I don’t understand
You got to be the only one
Who knows just who I am
Your shining in the distance
I hope I can make it through
Cause the only place
That I want to be
Is right back home with you
I guess there’s so much more
I have to learn
But if you’re here with me
I know which way to turn
You always give me somewhere,
Somewhere I can learn
You make it real for me…” —James Morrison
ready for your romance of the day? i don’t know if the majority of you know this, but chad & i dated once before…the summer after we graduated high school. one lovely summer afternoon, we randomly came here, fort baker, with his dad & brother. there were huge abandoned mansions & we had an incredible time taking photos of the architecture and surroundings. we also took a photo on some random porch steps.
last summer when we started…well, “rekindling”…we came back to fort baker, only to find they had completely renovated the fort & made it into a beautiful lodge and resort. the houses kept the original design, but they were restored to recapture the grandeur of the past. we found the same steps & took photos there once again.
in my last post, i shared that chad & i went back there a few days ago. we found the same steps & took photos once again. it was so neat to be back there…to reminisce about the past & dream about the future. i am going to try to find that photo from 2006, but here are the two from 2008-2009.
i love love.
